This bail application has been filed on behalf of Rahul Kumar Paswan who is in custody since 24.09.2025 in connection with Putki P.S. Case No. 17 of 2025 for the offence registered under Sections 108 and 3(5) of the BNS pending in the Court of learned CJM, Dhanbad is pressed into motion. Petitioner is the husband of the deceased and the informant is her mother. It is alleged that the deceased committed suicide on being harassed with reference to dowry demand of Rs. 2,00,000/- and a motorcycle. It is submitted by the learned counsel on behalf of petitioner that the marriage took place on 27.04.2024 and the deceased was not willing to live with the petitioner and had returned to her natal home on 20.12.2024 where she committed suicide on 24.12.2024. After the said incident, a UD case was lodged by the father of the deceased which was registered as non-FIR Case No. 05 of 2024 only a day after the incident i.e., on 25.12.2024. No allegation with regard to the dowry demand or harassment on part of the petitioner was made. The present case has been lodged by way of afterthought after three months i.e., 11.03.2025. Case has not been registered under Section 80 of the BNS. Learned A.P.P. for the State opposed the prayer for bail and submitted that there was allegation of dowry demand. It is not in dispute that the death was suicidal which took place in the natal home of the deceased and Munidih UD case was lodged by the father of the deceased which did not state about the dowry demand. 2026:JHHC:2324 Under the circumstances, the above-named petitioner is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.25,000/-(Twenty-Five Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the Court below.
