Vishal Kumar Mr. Neel Chakraborty … for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than six years and other accused persons are on bail. Learned advocate for the State summits that the evidence of the first Investigating Officer has been completed and there are two other investigating officers, whose deposition is still left. However, objection has been raised by the State, as, initially, the petitioner was absconding. Having regard to the fact that the petitioner is in custody for more than six years, I am inclined to release the petitioner on bail. 2 Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Allowed. Accordingly, the petitioner viz, Pritam Ghosh @ Debjit Ghosh @ Amit shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thousand only), with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned ACJM, Kalna. If on bail, the petitioner shall also make himself physically available on each and every date so fixed by the learned trial court and shall not leave the district of Purba Bardhaman without prior permission of the learned trial court or the court in seisin of the case. Additionally, the petitioner will furnish his residential address to the learned trial court as well as the Officer-in- charge of the Kalna Police Station and shall make himself physically available as and when called for by the Investigating Officer/Inspector-in-charge of the Kalna Police Station till further directions of this court. Accordingly, CRM (M) 1436 of 2026 is allowed. Report submitted be kept with the record.
