HEMALEKHA Digitally signed by MAHALAKSHMI B M Location: HIGH COURT OF KARNATAKA - 2 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:18476 WP No. 2890 of 2026 ORAL ORDER The petitioner has called in question the notice issued by the respondent at Annexure-C dated 22.08.2025, whereby the petitioner was directed to produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the City Municipal Council, failing which the electricity supply to the petitioner’s premises was to be disconnected. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that subsequent to the issuance of the impugned notice, and during the pendency of the present writ petition, the City Municipal Council has issued a fresh NOC dated 27.01.2026 which satisfies the requirement sought to be imposed under the impugned notice. 3. Per contra, learned counsel for the respondent submits that if the petitioner produces the said NOC before the respondent-authority, the same would be considered in accordance with law and appropriate action will be taken. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:18476 WP No. 2890 of 2026 4. Having heard the learned counsel for the parties and in view of the subsequent development of issuance of NOC by the competent authority, this Court is of the opinion that the ends of justice would be met by directing the petitioner to place the said NOC before the respondent for consideration. Accordingly, the petitioner shall produce the NOC dated 27.01.2026 before the respondent- authority within a period of one week from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Upon such production, the respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. The respondent shall restore the electricity supply to the petitioner’s premises, if found in order, within a period of two (2) weeks thereafter.
