Heard Sri.D.P.Mahesh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, Sri.K.Nageshwarappa, learned HCGP appearing for respondent No.1, Sri.Bhaskar Babu H.J., learned counsel appearing for respondent No.2 and have perused the material on record. 3. During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties to the lis have settled the dispute among themselves before the Lok Adalat and had filed a Joint Memo before the Prl. Judge, Family Court at Chikkaballapura in Crl.Misc.No.44/2024, which reads as follows: “Matter settled amicably between parties. Respondent agreed to pay Rs. 8 lakhs by way of fixed deposit in the name of petitioner No. 2 by making 1st petitioner as nominee towards full and final settlement. It is further settled that in pursuance receipt of said amount of Rs. 8 lakhs by way of FD receipts. Petitioner concedes that they will not make any claim in respect of maintenance in future. Matter accordingly settled before lok-adalath. In pursuance of this settlement petitioner will not claim any arrears of maintenance from 21.09.2023 till today or in future. Respondent hand over the fixed deposit receipt raised in the name of 2nd petitioner on or before 31.10.2025.” 4. For the aforesaid reasons, the following: ORDER [I] Criminal Petition is disposed. [II] Proceedings in C.C.No.160/2022, pending before the Principal Senior Civil Judge and CJM, Chikkaballapura, stands quashed qua the petitioners.
