Case No.887 of 2016 arising out of Kultali Police Station Case No.74 of 2016 dated February 5, 2016 under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code, 1860, pending before the Court of the Learned Judicial Magistrate, Baruipur, South 24 Parganas. The petitioner is the de facto complainant. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner approached this Court on an earlier occasion seeking expeditious disposal of this case by filing CRR 1484 of 2023. A Co-ordinate Bench of this Court by an order dated June 7, 2023 passed certain directions for expeditious hearing of the case. Despite such directions, only one out of ten prosecution witnesses has been examined till date. Having regard to the long pendency of this case, I dispose of this application giving direction upon the Learned Magistrate in the court below to dispose of the case as early as possible, preferably within a period of 18 months from the date of communication of this order without granting any unnecessary adjournment to the parties.
