Learned advocate representing petitioner submits that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner alleging cheating and extortion concerned police authorities have not taken necessary steps in accordance with law prompting the petitioner to approach this Court with the present writ petition seeking directions upon the concerned police authorities. 3. Learned advocate representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 22nd July, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Durgapur Police Station, Paschim Bardhaman and same is taken on record. Copy of the said 2 communication dated 22nd July, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing petitioner. 4. It is disclosed in the said communication filed on behalf of State respondents that taking note of the complaint lodged by the petitioner a criminal prosecution being Durgapur P.S. Case No. 479 of 2025 dated 27th November, 2025 has been initiated and investigation is going on. 5. In view of steps taken by the concerned police authorities no further order need be passed on this writ petition at this stage and writ petition is disposed of. 6. However, if petitioner is dissatisfied with the manner of investigation being carried out, petitioner shall be at liberty to approach the jurisdictional Magistrate in pursuit of remedy. 7.
