Mr. Suryaneel Das, Ms. Suchitra Sinha Chatterjee, Ms. Sumita Sarkar ….for the State. 1. Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. It is contended on behalf of the petitioner that there has been intimidation and threat perpetrated by local hooligans as a result whereof life and property of the petitioner are at stake. 3. In this regard a complaint dated 4th June, 2026 was made before the concerned police authorities and prayer is made for giving direction upon the concerned police authorities to provide protection. 4. Learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 14th June, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge, Nabadwip Police Station and same is taken on record. Copy of the communication dated 14th June, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner. 5. Though it is disputed on behalf of the State respondents regarding lodging of complaint by the petitioner but communication dated 14th June, 2026 discloses the stand of the police authorities taking note of the concern expressed on behalf of the petitioner. 6. In the communication it is also stated that when there is requirement, necessary protection would be provided by the police authorities to the petitioner. 7. In consideration of contents of such communication dated 14th June, 2026 Court directs police authorities to provide protection to the petitioner, if occasion so arises. 8. The writ petition stands disposed of. 9. However, this order shall not preclude the petitioner to approach jurisdictional Magistrate in accordance with law. 10.
