This HCP has been filed by the wife of one Premkumar (detenu). 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the detenu was missing from 4.00 a.m. of 06.10.2025 when he had stepped out for fishing from the Ennore Fishing Harbour in a mechanised boat along with 7 other fishermen. Since he did not return, she had filed a complaint on 12.10.2025 for man missing. 3. On account of the delay in securing the detenu the present HCP was filed as early as in October, 2025 and the docket orders of the Court indicate the efforts of the authorities under the monitoring of this Court to secure the detenu. Even on the last occasion, i.e., on 07.04.2026, an additional status report had been filed, which was taken on record and the Court had noted that a last opportunity was granted to the police to secure the detenu, failing which, the Court will consider the possibility of handing over the matter to an alternate agency for investigation. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

In light of the aforesaid, we do not transfer the investigation to any other alternate agency in the hope that the present team will do the utmost to secure the detenu at the very earliest. 7. In light of this, we also do not find any necessity to keep this HCP pending any further. Accordingly, this HCP is closed with the observations as above. (A.S.M.,J.)
