JUSTICE E.S.INDIRESH - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:35630 WP No. 16308 of 2013 ORAL ORDER In this writ petition, the petitioner has sought to challenge the order passed by respondent No. 4, dated 30.01.2012 produced at Annexure- H and letter dated 18.01.2012 addressed by the respondent No.3 to respondent No.4 produced at Annexure-G. The petitioner has, inter alia, sought for a direction to the respondents to enter the petitioner's name in the revenue records in respect of the land in question. 2. Heard Sri. Sreedhar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner; Sri. Spoorthy Hegde N., learned High Court Government Pleader appearing for the respondent-State and Sri. T.P. Vivekananda learned counsel appearing for Sri. Mohan Bhat, for respondent No.6. 3. Having considered the submissions made by the learned counsel and upon perusal of the material - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:35630 WP No. 16308 of 2013 available on record, it is evident that the land in question was acquired by the respondent-authorities under Government Order dated 18.08.1947. A copy of the said Government Order has been produced by the respondent-State. 4. In view of the aforesaid facts, I am of the considered opinion that no interference is called for with the impugned orders. Further, the writ petition suffers from gross delay and laches. The petitioner has failed to establish any sufficient cause for approaching this Court after such an inordinate delay. In view of the law declared by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case Shivamma (D) by LRs. v. Karnataka Housing Board and Others, reported in 2025 SCC OnLine SC 1969, and in the case of H. Guruswamy and Others v. A. Krishnaiah (since deceased) by LRs., reported in 2025 SCC OnLine - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:35630 WP No. 16308 of 2013 SC 54, the writ petition is liable to be dismissed on the ground of delay and laches. 5.
