AAAG Mr. Bibek Tarafder … for the State The grievance of the petitioner is that in spite of a specific direction passed by a coordinate Bench by an order dated March 17, 2026 in WPA 331 of 2026 directing the Commissioner of MGNREGA, Panchayat and Rural Development Department to dispose of the representation within a specified time, the reasoned order has not been communicated to the petitioner till date. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that for such reason the petitioner has been compelled to approach this Court. 2 Learned advocate appearing for the 3rd respondent submits that the reasoned order shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from date. Such submission of the learned advocate appearing for the 3rd respondent is placed on record. This writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Commissioner of MGNREGA, Panchayat and Rural Development Department to pass a reasoned and speaking order on the petitioner’s representation dated April 21, 2025 and communicate the same to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible but positively on or before August 14, 2026. It is, however, made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner and all points are left open to be decided by the said authority in accordance with law.
