Learned counsel for the petitioners has, inter alia, contended that both the petitioners are of marriageable age and have married each other of their free will and consent; that the petitioner No.2 was married earlier but has obtained a divorce from his earlier wife; that as on date, the petitioners are not having any spouse from any previous marriage; that because of marriage performed by the petitioners, the private respondents are threatening their life and liberty; and that representation Annexure P-5 dated 11.07.2026 moved by the petitioners before the respondent No.2 for redressal of their grievances has till date not been decided. 2. Notice of the petition to the respondents No.1 to 5 at this stage.
3. Mr. Amandeep Singh Samra, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on their behalf.
4. Without commenting anything upon the validity or otherwise of the alleged marriage of the petitioners and also upon merits of the petition in question, since the petitioners apprehend danger to their life and liberty from the respondents No.6 & 7, the present petition, at this stage, is
disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to look into the representation Annexure P-5 and if the need be, ensure protection of life and liberty of the petitioners.
5. All interim application/s, if any, also stand/s disposed off.
