Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than one year and six months. Two of the accused have been granted bail by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP (Crl.) No. 7689 of 2026. The said order was passed on 29.05.2026. Learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail and having considered the reasons assigned by the Hon’ble Apex Court, I am inclined to extend the same benefit to the petitioner. In spite of the fact that there has been recovery of 81.20 kgs. of Ganja. Thus, prayer for bail of the petitioner is allowed. Accordingly, the petitioner shall be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs.20,000/- with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- each, one of whom must be local to the 2 satisfaction of learned Judge, NDPS Act, 3rd Court, Purba Burdwan. If on bail, the petitioner shall be physically present on each and every date fixed before the learned Trial Court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of District Purba Burdwan without the prior permission of the learned Special Court. Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) 1471 of 2026 is allowed. Memo of evidence filed by the State is taken on record.
