CRM (A) 966 of 2026
In Re: An Application for Anticipatory Bail under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 in connection with Raiganj Police Station case no. 199 of 2026 dated 25.02.2026 under Sections 115(2)/118(2)/109/126(2)/74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
And In the matter of : Bapan Das.
……Petitioner. Mr. Amit Roy Mr. Anish Tiwari Ms. Sreyasi Bhattacharjee
.....for the Petitioner. Mr. Anurag Sardar
……for the State. Mr. Kaushik Chowdhury Mr. Dwaipayan Panda
......for the De-facto complainant.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the dispute arose because of non-payment of Rs.500/-. Learned advocate appearing for the de-facto complainant opposes the prayer for bail. Learned advocate appearing for the State has drawn the attention of the Court to the statement of the eye-witnesses as well as the medical papers /prescriptions. Having considered that there was a scalp injury, I am not inclined to grant the benefit of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. As such, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected. Petitioner, if so advised, should surrender before the jurisdictional Court and pray for regular bail.
2 Accordingly, CRM (A) 966 of 2026 is dismissed. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
