1. The petitioners are seeking a direction from this Court to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty as they apprehend danger to their life & liberty from respondents No. 4 to 6 i.e. relatives of petitioner No. 1, who are objecting to the marriage solemnized by the petitioners.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that the petitioners, being major, have solemnized their marriage against the wishes of respondents No. 4 to 6. It is contended that they apprehend a threat to their life and personal liberty at the hands of the said respondents. In support of their claim regarding the marriage, reliance has been placed upon the Marriage Certificate (Annexure P-3). It is further submitted that the petitioners had submitted a representation dated 03.07.2026 (Annexure P-5) KANCHAN 2026.07.14 11:15 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this
order/judgment
CRWP No. 8145 of 2026 2 before respondent No. 2 seeking protection; however, no action has been taken thereon till date.
3. Notice of motion to the official respondents only.
4. Mr. Ramesh Kumar Ambavta, learned Deputy Advocate General, Haryana, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents. Learned counsel for the petitioners is directed to furnish a complete set of the paper-book to the learned State counsel during the course of the day.

Without expressing any opinion on the validity or legality of the marriage allegedly solemnized between the petitioners, or examining the authenticity or evidentiary worth of the documents placed on record, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the present petition with a direction to respondent No. 2 to consider and decide the representation dated 03.07.2026 (Annexure P-5) expeditiously, preferably within a period of four weeks from today. In the event the competent authority finds that there exists a genuine threat to the life and personal liberty of the petitioners, appropriate measures shall be taken in accordance with law to ensure their protection.
6. It is, however, clarified that this order shall not be construed as granting the petitioners immunity from any legal proceedings or action that may otherwise be maintainable against them for any violation of law.
7. The writ petition stands disposed of.
