Through the instant petition, filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, a challenge is thrown to the order dated 06.07.2026 (Annexure P-1) whereby, the request of the petitioner for further extension of his deputation period with respondent no.4, was declined, and he has been desired to report back to the respondent university, w.e.f. 07.07.2026. 2. This Court has heard the matter, at length. When this Court was not inclined to interfere with the impugned order, learned counsel for respondent no.4, who is present in Court, on an advance notice, submitted DHARAM VIR 2026.07.14 17:13 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CWP-20779-2026 -2- that the services of the petitioner are indispensable, as he is currently discharging pivotal duties as the Registrar of the University. 3. On the other hand, learned counsel for respondents no.1 and 3-university submits that presently, there is an acute administrative exigency and an immediate shortage of experienced faculty of Physics within the university campus. Given that the upcoming academic session is scheduled to commence on 21.07.2026, therefore, the parent university, is in pressing need of services of the petitioner. 4. Considering the difficulties faced by both, respondents no. 1 and 3 (parent university) as well as respondent no.4, with their consensus, the deputation period of the petitioner is extended only for a further period of two months, i.e. from 07.07.2026 to 07.09.2026. It is, however, made clear that no further request, either by the petitioner or by respondent no.4, seeking extension of the deputation period shall be entertained. Upon expiry of the aforesaid period, the petitioner shall forthwith report back to his parent university. 5. Disposed of accordingly. 6. All pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of accordingly.
