JUSTICE YARENJUNGLA LONGKUMER ORDER Date : 09-02-2026 Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner Mr. S. Temjen. The instant writ petition has been filed by the peti- tioner seeking regularization of her service on the ground that her appointment was made on compassionate ground. The case of the petitioner is that her father died in harness on 23.08.2009. Thereafter, the petitioner applied for ap- pointment on compassionate ground however, the petitioner was appointed as Khalasi on casual basis by order dated 18.08.2012. It is stated that the scheme for compassionate appointment pro- vides for regular appointment however, the petitioner had been given an appointment on casual basis. Having no other option, the petitioner accepted the said appointment and is continuing in service on such terms and conditions till date. The petitioner had submitted her representation before the Chief Engineer, Water resources department Nagaland on 20.08.2025 but the same has not been considered nor disposed of by the respondents. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the applicants who had applied for compassionate appointment later than the petitioner had already been given appointment on regular basis. However, the case of the petitioner has not been considered. The learned Government Advocate Mr. Ajungli Sang- tam appears on behalf of all the respondents. Page No.# 3/3 As agreed upon by the parties, this petition is dis- posed of at the motion stage with a direction to the respondent Nos. 2,3 and 4 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.08.2025 and dispose of the same with a speaking order within a period of two months from the date of receipt of this or- der.
