The present Writ Petition has been filed praying a writ of mandamus directing respondent no.2 to accept the petitioner’s withdrawal /surrender from the MBBS course and refund the fees in accordance with law within a fixed period in pursuance of his representation dated 11.02.2026. s 2. The case of the petitioner is that he has been suffering from serious and prolonged medical health issues and is currently undergoing treatment at Max Hospital, Dehradun. Therefore, he has decided to withdraw /surrender his MBBS seat, however, the fees has not been returned to him so far. 1 2026:UHC:2016-DB 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner appearing on behalf of respondents no.2 & 3 Mr. Parikshit Saini submits that, as per UGC Notification issued in October, 2018, the fees cannot be refunded after 30 days of the last date of admission. He submits that, in the instant case, the said time had expired at the time of making application for refund. 4. We find that under the same Notification, it is specifically provided that complaint regarding non-refund of fees shall be examined in accordance with the UGC (Grievance Redressal Regulations, 2012). 5. In view of the same, we permit the petitioner to avail the remedy provided under the (Grievance Redressal Regulations, 2012. In case, any complaint is made by the petitioner under the said regulations, the same shall be decided expeditiously. 6. The petition stands disposed of. 7.
