Petitioner states that the said Institution has been upgraded as a Higher Secondary School by a memo dated June 30, 2013. The petitioner claims that as per the notification of the Government of West Bengal, School Education Department dated February 27, 2009, petitioner is entitled to an additional increment at the rate of 3% in the revised pay structure. The petitioner alleges that in spite of a representation dated January 2, 2026 submitted before the concerned respondent 2 requesting the respondent authority to grant one additional increment of 3% for discharging the additional responsibility of Headmaster of the Higher Secondary section of the said School, no decision has been taken by the respondent authorities in that regard till date. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner places reliance upon an order dated January 27, 2026 passed by a coordinate Bench in WPA 27771 of 2025 in the case of Monidipa Banerjee –Vs.- State of West Bengal & Ors. in support of his contention that petitioner is entitled to additional increment. Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that since a representation has been made claiming additional increment, such representation shall be considered and disposed of by the concerned respondent authority within the time limit as may be fixed by this Court. Without entering into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in the representation dated January 2, 2026, this 3 writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Commissioner of School Education, Government of West Bengal, being the 3rd respondent, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated January 2, 2026 and dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order strictly in accordance with law which shall be communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible but positively within a period of four weeks from the receipt of a server copy of this order together with the copy of the representation dated January 2, 2026. It will be open to the petitioner to place reliance upon any order passed by this Court as well as any circular in support of the claim made by the petitioner. If such materials are produced, the respondent authority shall consider the same while passing the reasoned order. (Hiranmay Bhattacharyya, J.)
