JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER The petitioner - accused is before this Court call in question registration of a crime in Crime No.157/2019, pending before the Principal Civil Judge and JMFC, Hassan, for the offences punishable under Sections 465, 468 and 420 of the IPC and Sections 192(a)(1)(2)(3) of the Karnataka Land - 3 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010495392026 NC: 2026:KHC:37525 CRL.P No. 10663 of 2026 Revenue Act 1964 and Section 4(1)(2)(3) of the Karnataka Land Grabbing Prohibition Act, 2007. 2. Heard Sri Pratheep K.C., learned counsel for petitioner and Smt. Rashmi Patel, learned High Court Government Pleader for respondent Nos.1 to 3. 3. Though the petition is filed challenging the registration of the crime, learned counsel for petitioner would now submit that the petitioner would cooperate with the investigation, but prays a direction to the police not to take any coercive action against him. 4. Since the incident is of the year 2019 and the axe of the crime is now fallen on the petitioner, with a notice being issued by the police, I deem it appropriate to grant two weeks time to the petitioner to approach the concerned Court to seek anticipatory bail. In the light of the circumstance, for a period of two weeks from today, the respondents shall not take any coercive action against the petitioner. 5. In the event, the petitioner files an application seeking anticipatory bail before the concerned Court within two weeks from today, as is directed hereinabove, the concerned Court - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010495392026 NC: 2026:KHC:37525 CRL.P No. 10663 of 2026 shall expeditiously dispose the said application, bearing in mind the observations of the Apex Court made in plethora of cases for timely disposal of the bail applications. 6.
