JUSTICE YARENJUNGLA LONGKUMER O R D E R 07.04.2026 The instant application has been filed praying for impleadment of Brigadier Amit Kumar Sharma, Deputy Inspector General, Headquarters 10 Sector, Assam Rifles as respondent no. 5 in the connected COP(C)/40/2025. 2. Heard learned counsel for the applicant, Ms. Obangnenla Longchar. 3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the applicant that the applicant/petitioner has filed COP(C)/40/2025 on 27.11.2025 and the same is pending before this Court. At the time of filing the COP(C)/40/2025, the respondent no. 3, Vaibhav Shinda was holding the post of Deputy Inspector General, Headquarters 10 Sector, Assam Rifles. However during the pendency of the contempt petition, the respondent no. 3 has been transferred out and the new incumbent is now Brigadier Amit Kumar Sharma. Therefore, it has become necessary to implead the new incumbent as respondent no. 5 in COP(C)/40/2025. 4. The Court has considered the prayer of the applicant and the petition is allowed. The applicant shall file an amended Cause Title showing the name of Brigadier Amit Kumar Sharma as respondent no. 5 in the COP(C)/40/2025 and thereafter, take steps for service on the newly impleaded respondent no. 5 by way of Speed Post as well as usual Page No.# 4/4 process within a week. 5.
