The prayer in this writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take necessary steps to cancel the irregular Gramasabha Meeting held on 26.01.2026 in Varatharajapuram Village Panchayat, Thuraiyur Block, Trichy District and re-conduct the same as per the Tamil Nadu Grama Sabha (Quorum and Procedure for Convening and Conducting of meetings) Rules 1998, by considering the representations of petitioner dated 28.01.2026 and 20.01.2026 within a time frame as fixed by this Court. 2. The grievance of the petitioner is that grama sabha meeting was not held as per G.O(Ms)No.150, Rural Development (C-1) Department, dated 17.07.1998 and there was no quorum present to pass the resolution. That apart, the authorities deliberately omitted to consider the representation submitted by the Village President to pass the resolution. Perusal of the materials shows that though the petitioner stated that there was no quorum for convening the grama sabha meeting and that he has also raised other allegations, as the petitioner has already submitted a copy of the representation in this regard to the District Collector on 28.01.2026, we direct the 1st respondent / District Collector to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.01.2026 and pass order in tune with Section 202 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act 1994, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.
