Instant petition has been filed for directing the respondents-authority to count temporary service on contract basis rendered by Mr. Inder Pal Singh Multani (husband of the petitioner) from 02.08.1993 to 29.08.2011 towards regular service from 29.08.2011 to 20.11.2019 as qualifying service and grant pension/family pension to the petitioner from the date of death of her husband i.e. 20.11.2019 and future family pension also; to grant death- cum-retirement gratuity and service gratuity to the petitioner in respect of whole service rendered by her husband and to grant above benefits of pension and family pension, death-cum-retirement gratuity and service gratuity with interest @ 18% per annum. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the case of the petitioner is squarely covered by the Division Bench judgment of RAVINDER SINGH 2026.07.14 17:39 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment 2 CWP-21098 of 2026 this Court in Harbans Lal v. The State of Punjab and others, 2012(3) SCT 362 (Annexure P-6), which has been followed in CWP-12826 of 2017 – Rajesh Kumar and others v. State of Punjab and others and connected cases decided on 22.12.2025 (Annexure P-8), which has been upheld in LPA-1085 of 2026 – Municipal Committee Malerkotla through its Executive Officer v. Paramjit Singh @ Parmjit Singh and others, decided on 21.04.2026 (Annexure P-9). He submits that for redressal of her grievances, the petitioner has also served legal notice dated 16.05.2026 (Annexure P-10) to the respondents which is still pending consideration. He further submits that at this stage, the petitioner would be satisfied, if appropriate directions are issued to the respondents to consider and decide the said legal notice, by passing a speaking order, in a time bound manner. 3. Mr. Rohit Ahuja, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 and 2-State and Mr. Saurabh Jain, Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of respondent No.3 and they have no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner. 5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case. 6. Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to consider and decide legal notice dated 16.05.2026 (Annexure P-10) submitted by the petitioner expeditiously, by passing a speaking order after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, preferably RAVINDER SINGH 2026.07.14 17:39 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment 3 CWP-21098 of 2026 within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
