The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to release his alleged outstanding retiral dues, including the balance amount of Central Provident Fund, gratuity, pensionary benefits, refixation of pension and other consequential post-retiral benefits. The grievance of the petitioner is that despite submission of various representations, the respondents have not taken any decision thereon. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was initially appointed as a Dusting Operator and thereafter retired under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme, 2002. It is submitted that although certain retiral benefits have been extended, according to the petitioner, several retiral dues are still payable. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner has submitted representations from time to time requesting the respondents to consider his claim for release of the alleged outstanding retiral dues; however, no decision has been taken by the competent authority till date. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the competent respondent authority to consider and decide the representation submitted by the petitioner within a time-bound period. 4. Considering the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent respondent authority to consider and decide the representation 3 submitted by the petitioner, including any fresh representation, if filed, by passing a reasoned and speaking order in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of fifty days from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 5. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim and the competent authority shall consider and decide the same independently, strictly in accordance with law, without being influenced by any observation made in this order. 6.
