The instant petition has been filed by the petitioners for directions to the respondents No.1 to 3 to protect their life and liberty from the respondents No.4 to 6. 2. The learned counsel representing the petitioners submits that the petitioners have filed a representation dated 08.07.2026 (Annexure P-5) before the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur. The learned counsel prays for directions to the respondents No.1 to 3 to decide the abovementioned representation within a stipulated time. 3. Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 3 only. 4. Since advance notice has already been served upon the State, Mr. Jasdev Singh Thind, DAG, Punjab, has appeared on behalf of respondent-State. Hence, service of notice upon the State is hereby dispensed with. 5. The police authority of District Sangrur shall be at liberty to make an independent assessment with regard to threat perception to the petitioners, and take a decision on the issue of providing adequate security to them.
