The petitioners seek the expeditious disposal of G.R. Case No. 139 of 2020, arising out of Thanarpara Police Station Case No. 34 of 2019 dated 09.03.2019, initially registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, in which a charge-sheet has subsequently been submitted under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code, corresponding to Sessions Case No. 12 of 2021. Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that the First Information Report was registered in the year 2019, the charge-sheet was submitted in the year 2020, and charges were framed on 8th February, 2024. It is further submitted that, out of 15 prosecution witnesses, only one witness has been examined thus far. Having regard to the aforesaid facts and circumstances, this application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Trial Court to make every endeavour to conclude the trial and dispose of the case as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eighteen months from the date of communication of this order, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. Accordingly, CRR 2656 of 2026 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
