1. The writ application has been preferred praying for direction upon the respondents mainly the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Dinhatat being the respondent no. 4 in the present case to register and initiate appropriate proceedings under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
2. It is submitted by the petitioner that the concerned authority is not accepting the complaint of the petitioner under the said Act by citing that they are busy with the process of SIR.
3. On hearing the learned counsels for the parties and on considering the grievance of the senior citizens before this Court, this Court in the interest of justice directs the respondent no. 4
2 herein being the SDO, Dinhata, to accept the complaint filed by the petitioner as per the provisions of the Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 and the said authority on receiving the same shall proceed in accordance with law and make all endeavour to address the said grievance expeditiously.
4. Petitioner shall file the said complaint within seven days from this order.
5. Petitioner is at liberty to pray for all protection as permitted under the Act before the said authority being the respondent no. 4.
6. Writ application stands disposed of.
7. Connected application, if any, stands disposed of.
8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
