Complaining unauthorized construction at holding no.15, Street no.01, Ward no.04 under Tarakeswar Municipality and the failure on the part of the municipal authorities to take action, the instant writ petition has been filed. 3. The municipality is represented and has placed before this Court a communication dated 7th July, 2026, issued by the Executive Officer, Tarakeswar Municipality to demonstrate that the municipality has already, taking note of the unauthorized construction, issued a stop work 2 WPA 15078 of 2026 notice under Section 220 of the West Bengal Municipal Act, 1993. 4. Let the communication dated 7th July, 2026 as placed before this Court be taken on record. 5. Having regard to the disclosure made, I am of the view that the municipal authorities must bring the proceedings to a logical conclusion on an expeditious basis, preferably within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of communication of this order. 6. It is made clear that this Court has not entered into the merits of the cause and the municipality shall decide the same being uninfluenced by any of the observations made herein. 7. With the above observations and directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
