The petitioner alleges inaction on the part of the respondent District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas in disposing of the petitioner’s application under Section 14 of the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 (hereafter as the 2002 Act). 3. Mr. Ray, Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the application under Section 14 of the 2002 Act had been filed as far back as on October 14, 2025 and the same has been pending since then. 4. Mr. Bhattacharyya, learned advocate appearing for the State respondent submits that the petitioner’s application has been taken up by the District Magistrate and would be heard shortly. 5. Mr. Bhattacharyya, further submits that an application under Section 17 of the 2002 Act is 2 pending before the DRT. However, Mr. Ray, submits that there is no stay in such proceeding before the DRT as of now. 6. Heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and considered material on record. Since it has been submitted by Mr. Ray that there is no stay in operation, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas to dispose of the petitioner’s application under Section 14 of the said Act of 2002 in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of four weeks from date. 7. With the above observations, WPA 15445 of 2026 stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities. (Om Narayan Rai, J.)
