This writ petition, styled as public interest litigation, seeks direction to respondent Nos.1 and 2 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 13.4.2026 alleging distribution of Rs.8000 Illatharasi coupons by the fifth respondent in the State of Tamil Nadu and destruct the same in entirety and to initiate penal action against the fifth respondent. 3. Today when the matter is taken up, learned counsel appearing for the Election Commission of India submitted that the complaints have been looked into by the Election Commission of India and it is found that there is violation of the provisions contained in Section 127A of the Representation of People Act, 1951. An FIR has been lodged in certain constituencies by the Returning Officer.
