The petitioner is aggrieved by the disconnection of the existing water supply in the petitioner’s premises being premises no. 252, holding no. 85, ward no. 32 Nandannagore, Kolkata – 700083, P.S. Belgharia. 2. When the matter was taken up on 7th July 2026, this Court had directed the municipality to file a report. Pursuant to the aforesaid direction, the municipality had filed a report. A perusal of the aforesaid report would reveal that in course of inspection by the municipal officers and upon verification of the municipal records, it transpired that Suvra Dutta being the resident of the aforesaid undivided premises had obtained water supply connected by furnishing misleading information to the municipality. From the available assessment records, it transpires that the premises in question comprised 2 of one municipal holding and as per the record, the assessee holder of the said premises are Sadhan Chandra Dutta and others under single holding being number 85. 3. The premises in question has already been provided with a water supply connection. An additional connected was obtained by providing misleading information. The municipality upon ascertaining the same, had disconnected the water supply by retaining the previous connection. According to the municipality, there is an existing supply of water in the aforesaid premises. 4. Having heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and noting that there is an existing supply of water at the said premises and the new connection was obtained by providing misleading information, I am of the view that no interference is called for in this matter and the writ petition is accordingly dismissed. 5.
