1. The petitioner is challenging the order passed by the respondent No.3, whereby the services of the petitioner were terminated along with a direction to recover an amount of Rs.8,000/-. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was engaged as a Field Assistant and that, on the allegations of misappropriation, the 4th respondent passed proceedings directing recovery of an amount of Rs.8,000/-.
Upon receipt of the said information by the 3rd respondent and on the appeal filed by the petitioner against the orders of the 4th respondent, the 3rd respondent passed the impugned proceedings removing the petitioner from service and also directing recovery of the amount of Rs.8,000/-. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 4th respondent submits that the petitioner was engaged on a contract basis for a specified period of time and that the term of such engagement had already come to an end. As such, the petitioner cannot claim reinstatement to the said post on a contract basis.
