None present for the petitioners. 2. Mr. Narayan Dutt, learned Standing Counsel for the State of Uttarakhand. 3. Mr. B.D. Pande, learned counsel for the respondent-Selecting Body. 4. Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission issued an advertisement inviting applications for appointment against available vacancies on the post of Gram Panchayat Vikas Adhikari. The said advertisement was issued on 26.11.2015. Petitioners participated in the selection process; however, before the selection process could be concluded, State Government ordered an enquiry in view of complaints received against the selection process. 5. Since name of the petitioners came under cloud in the inquiry report, therefore, they have approached this Court seeking the following reliefs:- (i) A writ order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the final report dated 04.10.2018 which was served upon the petitioner on 13.10.2020 as well as interim inquiry report dated 06.06.2017 (contained as Annexure no. 16 and 8 respectively to this petition). (ii) A writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the candidature of the petitioners in accordance with law and further direct the respondent to given the appointment to the petitioners pursuant to the advertisement dated 2026:UHC:1483 26.11.2015 in which the petitioners were declared to be successful and which was wrongly/illegally cancelled on the basis of the interim inquiry report. (iii) A writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent authority to conduct a high level inquiry from the independent agency in accordance with law. 5. Learned counsel appearing for Selecting Body points out that the entire selection was scrapped by State Government pursuant to a policy decision taken on 06.06.2017. He submits that the said decision was taken in view of complaint of large-scale irregularities in the selection process. He submits that after cancellation of selection process, the reliefs as claimed by the petitioner do not survive. 6. This Court finds substance in the submission made by learned counsel for the Selecting Body. Once the selection process is scrapped, then the reliefs, as claimed by petitioners cannot be granted. 7. In such view of the matter, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
