The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking a direction upon respondent No. 1 to decide the stay application filed in Maintenance Appeal No. 16/A:MNT/DC of 2026 (Annexure P-3) titled as Jaswinder Kaur versus Boriya Singh, in a time bound manner. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will be satisfied in case a direction is issued to the respondent concerned to decide the stay application filed by the petitioner in appeal (Annexure P-3) by passing an appropriate speaking order in a time bound manner. 3. Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 and 2, at this stage only. 4. On the asking of the Court, Ms. Aakanksha Gupta, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 and 2 and submits that in case, the stay application has been received in the office of the concerned authority and the same is still pending consideration with the authority GURPREET SINGH 2026.07.10 13:46 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh CWP No. 20566 of 2026 -2- concerned, the same will be decided by the competent authority expeditiously by passing an appropriate speaking order. Learned State counsel further submits that in case, it is found feasible to accept the claim of the petitioner, the same will be accepted, otherwise due reasons will be mentioned for not accepting the claim of the petitioner in the speaking order to be passed and the said order will be duly conveyed to the petitioner. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that keeping in view the statement of learned counsel for the respondent-State, the present petition may kindly be disposed of having been not pressed any further. 6.
