ADDL ADVOCATE GENERAL The Court made the following: ORDER : (Per the Hon’ble Sri Justice A. Hari Haranadha Sarma) Heard learned counsel on either side. 2. Respondent No.9, Chikkam Raja Rajeswari (detenue), appeared before the court and submitted that she is staying with her parents as on this day, on her own. However, she has submitted that she intends to stay with the petitioner and that they opted for social marriage in the presence of friends and well wishers. 3. Learned counsel for the respondents 10 and 11 i.e., the parents of respondent No.9, would submit that the marriage is invalid. However, said contention is not relevant at this juncture. 4. Since respondent No.9 is a major, as per the date of birth reflecting in her Transfer Certificate and Aadhar Card produced i.e., 17.09.2004, she can stay at the place of her choice. 5. The statement made by the respondent No.9 before this Court is found voluntary. However, she has expressed an apprehension that her parents may interfere if she continues to reside with the petitioner. 6. The petitioner and respondent No.9 were called to the Chambers. Upon enquiry, both of them in one voice submitted that they have married and they intend to live peacefully. 7. In view of the above submission of the petitioner and the respondent No.9, this Court is of the opinion that no further orders are required. However, the respondents 1 to 8 are directed not to interfere with the personal liberty of either the petitioner or the respondent No.9. It is also clarified that the petitioner and the respondent no.9, in the event of any interference, are at liberty to set the appropriate law into motion. 8. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
