The petitioner is a member of Pirganj Gram Panchayat and seeks quashing of the notice dated 08th June 2026 issued by the Prescribed Authority postponing the meeting scheduled to be held pursuant to a ‘no confidence motion’ submitted by the requisitionist/majority members of the panchayat. The petitioner is not one of the requisitionists who have submitted the motion. She has sought quashing of the notice postponing the meeting. The meeting was due to be held on 10th June, 2026 and appears to have been postponed due to non-availability of police assistance which 2 is a situation beyond control of the Prescribed Authority. The petitioner not being one of the requisitionists has no authority to challenge the notice of cancellation of the meeting, moreso, since the date fixed for the meeting has already expired. The writ petition is devoid of any merit and accordingly dismissed. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
