1. Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of appropriate directions to respondents No.1 to 3, to protect the lives and liberty of the petitioners, who apprehend threat to their life at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 7, and not to harass or interfere in the peaceful life of the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners are in live-in-relationship and are being threatened with dire consequences by the private respondents. Resultantly, a representation dated 27.06.2026 (Annexure P-3) was also made to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh, for protection of their lives and liberty but in vain. In view of above, petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh to provide necessary protection to the petitioners after considering threat perceptions to their life and liberty and to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioners is not jeopardized at the hands of the private respondents.
