Shakir Khan, learned counsel appeared on behalf of the petitioner; Mr. A. Bheigya Meitei, learned counsel appeared on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 4 and Mr. Anjan Prasad Sahu, learned counsel appeared on behalf of respondent No. 5. By an order dated 17-03-2026, all these matters (one writ petition and two misc. applications) were referred to the Mediation Centre, High Court of Manipur, for exploring the possibility of an amicable settlement of the dispute between the parties. It has been submitted jointly by the learned counsel appearing for the parties that the mediation process was successful and a mediation report to the effect that the mediation was successful was submitted by the Secretary, High Court Legal Services Committee in his letter dated 04-05-2026. Contd…/- The Terms of Settlement arrived at between the parties as reflected in the Mediation Settlement Agreement dated 15-04-2026 are as under:- “Terms of Settlement: 1. Extension of Eviction The respondent i.e. the SDO Keirao Bitra, Imphal East, Manipur, Porompat and SDC, Tulihal, Imphal, Imphal East District, Manipur, Yairipok agree that no eviction shall be carried out against the petitioner until 31st August, 2026. 2. Shifting of Petitioner office The petitioner, HDFC Bank, Branch Manager undertakes that its office/ building operations shall be sifted to another location during the month of August, 2026 3. Vacating the Premises The petitioner agrees to vacate the said premises peacefully on or before 31st August, 2026 without requiring any further notice from the respondent. 4. No Coercive Action The respondents agree that no coercive or eviction action shall be taken against the petitioner during the agree period. 5. Peacefully compliance Both parties agree to maintain peacefully and cooperation during the subsistence of this agreement. 6. Final Settlement This agreement constitutes a full and final settlement of the dispute between the parties concerning the subject matter, and no further claims shall be raised. 7. Binding nature This settlement shall be binding upon both parties, their representatives and successors.” It has been submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the parties that all the parties have duly signed the said Terms of Settlement and that on the basis of the Terms of Settlement arrived at -2- MC(WP(C)) No. 132 of 2026 & ors. Recording the submissions made by the counsel appearing for the parties, the present writ petition as well as the connected two applications are disposed of in terms of the settlement arrived at between the parties, which has been quoted hereinabove.
