1. By virtue of the present petition under Section 482 BNSS, petitioners, who are accused in case bearing FIR No.110 dated 07.04.2026 registered against them, for commission of offences punishable u/s 126(2), 115(2), 117(4), 74, 351(2), 351(3), 191(3) and 190 BNS at P.S. Sahnewal, District Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana have prayed for grant of pre- arrest bail. 2. Status report/reply dated 06.07.2026 by way of affidavit of Mr. Angrej Singh, PPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate Ludhiana has been placed on record. In para 12 thereof, the factum of petitioner having joined the investigation has been mentioned. Learned State counsel, on instructions from HC Iqbal Singh, submits that petitioners are not needed for further investigation. 3. On 05.06.2026, following order was passed by this Court:-
“Learned counsel for the petitioners has inter alia argued that all offences of the FIR in question except offence under Sections 117(4) and 74 of BNS are bailable; that injury attracting Section 117(4) has not specifically been attributed to the petitioners as two persons have been attributed brick injuries on face; that the co-accused Manjeet Kumar has been granted interim bail by this Court and his anticipatory bail petition is pending for 09.07.2026; that FIR in the present case was lodged after a long unexplained delay; that such delay has been HAMANT 2026.07.10 15:28 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

misused to concoct a false story; that it is not clear as to which injury caused by which accused caused injury attracting Section 117(4) of BNS; that the petitioners have been falsely implicated in the present case; that the petitioners are permanent residents of Ludhiana; and that the petitioners are ready to join investigation and further to cooperate with the investigating agency on all material counts. Notice of motion. Ms. Samdisha Kaur, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State of Punjab and prays for time to file a status report. At her request, adjourned to 09.07.2026 for the said purpose. Adjourned to 02.04.2026.
However, considering the arguments of the learned counsel for the petitioners and the totality of the facts/circumstances of the present case, the petitioners are directed to join investigation with the concerned investigating officer within seven days from today. It is also ordered that in the event of their arrest in the FIR in question, they shall be released on interim bail to the satisfaction of such officer. However, on such bail, they shall comply with the term/s and condition/s contained in Section 480(3) and 482(2) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.”

Keeping in view the fact that petitioners have joined the investigation, interim bail granted vide order dated 05.06.2026 is hereby confirmed, subject to conditions as envisaged under Section 482(2) BNSS. Further the petitioners are directed to join investigation as and when required in future by way of written notice for such purpose to be served by Investigating Officer of this case upon the petitioners; they will neither tamper with the evidence nor will influence the witnesses and nor will leave the country without prior permission of the Court. 5.
