During the course of investigation, petitioner was arrested on 30.05.2026 and remanded to judicial custody. Subsequently, the offence punishable under Section 109 of BNS, 2023, has been invoked against them. His bail application filed before the jurisdictional Sessions Court in Crl. Misc. No.5256/2026 was rejected on 08.06.2026. Therefore, he is before this Court. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:35918 CRL.P No. 9511 of 2026 4. Perusal of the first information would go to show that petitioners and the injured victims are totally strangers. The incident in question had taken place at about 8.20 p.m. on 29.05.2026 as a result of road rage, in which accused nos.1 & 2 allegedly assaulted the first informant and his son. The material on record would go to show that the injured victims have suffered only minor injuries and the petitioner is in custody in the present case from 30.05.2026. Learned Counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner has no other criminal antecedents. He has undertaken to co-operate with the police for the purpose of further investigation. Major portion of the investigation has been completed. Under the circumstances, I am of the opinion that petitioners' prayer for grant of regular bail is required to be answered affirmatively. Accordingly, the following order: 7. The petition is allowed. The petitioner is directed to be enlarged on bail in Crime No.160/2026 registered by Anekal Police Station, Bengaluru District, for the offences punishable under Sections 126(2), 118(1), 351(2), 352, 109 read with 3(5) of BNS, 2023, subject to the following conditions: - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:35918 CRL.P No. 9511 of 2026 a) Petitioner shall execute personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- with two sureties for the likesum, to the satisfaction of the jurisdictional Court; b) The petitioner shall appear regularly on all the dates of hearing before the Trial Court unless the Trial Court exempts his appearance for valid reasons; c) The petitioner shall not directly or indirectly threaten or tamper with the prosecution witnesses; d) The petitioner shall not involve in similar offences in future.
