1. Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. Learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that petitioner is a senior citizen and respondent nos.4 & 5 are son and daughter-in-law of the petitioner. 3. Petitioner alleges misbehaviour with her by the respondent nos.4 & 5 as a result whereof a complaint was lodged by the petitioner with the concerned police authority. Based on such complaint of the petitioner FIR was drawn up being Halisahar P.S. Case No.155 of 2026 dated 23rd May, 2026 under certain provisions of BNS against respondent nos.4 & 5. 4. Petitioner prays for direction upon the concerned police authority to provide protection. [2]

Respondent nos.4 & 5 are represented by learned advocate who has disputed the contention made on behalf of the petitioner and it is also submitted that a sum is paid by respondent nos.4 & 5 to the petitioner month by month. 6. Learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 14th July, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge,

Police
Station, Barrackpore Police Commissionerate and same is taken on record. Copies of the said communication dated 14th July, 2026 are made over to the learned advocates representing petitioner and respondent nos.4 & 5. 7. It is disclosed in the said communication dated 14th July, 2026 that on completing investigation in connection with Halisahar P.S. Case No.155 of 2026 dated 23rd May, 2026, charge-sheet no.210 of 2026 dated 25th June, 2026 was filed before the jurisdictional Magistrate. 8. In view of filing of charge-sheet no further order is required to be passed in connection with the aforesaid criminal prosecution. 9. However, concerned police authority is directed to provide protection to the petitioner, if occasion so arises. 10.
Leave is also granted to the petitioner to approach the jurisdictional authority under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. 11. Writ petition stands disposed of. [3]
