This writ petition has been filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India with the following prayers :- “(i) Issue a writ, order, or direction, directing the learned court concerned i.e. District Judge, Chamoli to decide the Election Petition No.10/2025 "Smt. Kamla Devi Vs District Election Officer (Panchayat), Chamoli and others" within a stipulated time preferably within such period as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the interest of justice. (ii) Issue any other or further writ, order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case. (iii) To award the cost of the petitions in favour of the petitioner.” 2. Heard Mr. V. B. S. Negi, learned Senior 1 2026:UHC:1873 Advocate for the petitioner and Mr. Sanjay Bhatt, learned counsel for the respondent nos.1 to 3. 3. Mr. V. B. S. Negi, Senior Advocate submitted that the private respondent (respondent no.4) has filed her written statement in the Election Petition No.10 of 2025. 4. The prayer of the petitioner has not been opposed by the respondent nos.1 to 3. 5. In the facts and circumstances of the case, the learned District Judge, Chamoli is directed to make an endeavour to decide the Election Petition No.10 of 2025, “Smt. Kamla Devi vs. District Election Officer (Panchayat), Chamoli and Others”, expeditiously, as per law, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either party. 6. The present Writ Petition No.445 of 2026 (M/S) is disposed of accordingly. 7.
