Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 2 years 11 months and there has been no progress in the trial of the case. Further, there were earlier directions which were not complied with by the State. As such, the petitioner may be released on bail. 2. None appears on behalf of the State. 3. The records of the case reflect that the case is of the year 2014 and more than 12 years have passed. Petitioner initially was granted bail, however, because of absence of the petitioner and other accused persons, the trial could not proceed. 4. Having considered that it is very difficult for the prosecution to obtain the witnesses promptly and the accused has successfully 2 misused the liberty, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. 5. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. 6. Accordingly, CRM (M) 1183 of 2026 is dismissed. 7. All parties shall act in terms of the server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. 8.
