Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than 13 months and is innocent of the charge. Charge-sheet has already been submitted before the jurisdictional court, as such, further detention of the petitioner is unwarranted. The evidence of the case will consume time so that the petitioner may be released on bail. Learned advocate appearing for the State has produced the case diary. A report has also been submitted. I find that the petitioner being the sole accused has been held responsible for strangulation to death of the deceased. The incident cropped up at the time of commission of theft/robbery. There are similar other cases against the present petitioner at 2 Burrabazar Police Station and also New Market Police Station. Having considered the criminal antecedent of the present petitioner, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM(M)2885 of 2025 is rejected. Memo of Evidence submitted by the State be kept with the record.
