Ms.Shalini Thakral, learned counsel for the petitioner. 2. Ms. Sweta Badola Dobhal, learned Brief Holder for the State. 3. The petitioners Smt. Priyanshi and Saurabh are praying for police protection since there is threat perception from the respondent nos. 3 to 5. The respondent nos. 3 and 4 are the parents of the petitioner no.1 and respondent no.5 is the brother of petitioner no.1. 4. It is contended that both the petitioners are in love with each other and both are major and married with each other in Anmol Ashram, Jwalapur, District Haridwar on 13.03.2026. It is submitted that according to their date of birth both are major. In support of the age, the Aadhaar Card of petitioner no.1 is enclosed, according to which, the date of birth of the petitioner no.1 is 12.03.2008, Insofar as, the petitioner no.2 is concerned, as per Aadhaar Card his date of birth is 12.11.2004. The PAN Card of the petitioner no.2 is also enclosed at page 17 in which the same date of birth is mentioned. The S.S.P. Hardwar was also informed through mail with regard to threat perception for respondent no. 3 to 5. 5. Admittedly, both the petitioners are major according to their date of birth though their marriage is not registered but as per the documents as annexed in the petition both of them married on 13.03.2026. 6. Admittedly as per the documents, as enclosed in the petition, both the petitioners are major and both of them got married, and, in such an eventuality, if there is any threat perception from the side of the private respondents then the State is under legal obligation to ensure safety and protection of the petitioners. 7. In such view of the matter, both the petitioners are directed to appear before the S.H.O. and the S.H.O. concerned shall assess whether there is any threat perception or not. If he comes to the conclusion that there is any threat perception, he may take immediate steps to provide appropriate protection to both the petitioners. 8.
