1. The present Writ Petition is filed seeking a declaration that the action of the respondents, particularly Respondent Nos.
4 and 5, in continuously harassing the petitioner by making phone calls and sending police constables to the petitioner's residence pursuant to the notice dated 18.05.2026 issued under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), without furnishing a copy of the FIR, is illegal, arbitrary, and violative of the petitioner's rights. The petitioner further seeks a Writ of Mandamus restraining the respondents from illegally summoning the petitioner. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is acted only as a mediator in the marriage between Smt. Krishna Prasanna, wife of Durga Prasad, who is the de facto complainant in Crime No. 288 of 2024 on the file of Town Police Station, Vuyyuru, and A-1 in the said crime. According to the petitioner, despite his limited role as a mediator, he is being unnecessarily summoned by the police authorities. 3. On the basis of written instructions, the learned Government Pleader submitted that the petitioner has been arrayed as Accused No. 8 in the above said crime. It is further submitted that a notice under Section 35 of BNSS was earlier served upon the petitioner directing him to appear before the investigating authorities. Since the petitioner did not comply with the said notice, the police are proposing to serve a fresh notice upon him and proceed further strictly in accordance with law. 4

Having regard to the fact that a criminal case has been registered and that the petitioner has been shown as an accused in the said crime, this Court is of the view that the grievance of the petitioner does not warrant any further interference at this stage. The respondents have categorically stated that they would proceed only in accordance with the procedure established by law. 5. In view of the above circumstances, no further orders are necessary in the present Writ Petition. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is closed. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, if any pending and the Interim order granted earlier, if any, shall stand closed.
