By this petition, the petitioner is seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal comprising of Hon’ble Justice Permod Kholi, Former Chief Justice, High Court of Sikkim as presiding Arbitrator, Hon’ble Justice Gita Mittal, Former Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Ladakh as Co-Arbitrator, and Hon’ble Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain, Former Judge of the High Court of J&K as Co- Arbitrator, by a further period of one year, w.e.f., 10th August, 2026 to enable completion of evidence of the parties, final hearing, and pronouncement of the arbitral award. 02. It is stated in the petition that with the mutual consent of parties the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was already extended by six months in terms of Section 29A (3) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, which period has expired on 10th August, 2026. 03. It is stated at the Bar by learned counsel for the parties that they have no objection if the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by further period of one year i.e., from 10th August, 2026 up to 9th August, 2027 04. Be that as it may, with the consent of learned counsel for the parities, the time for mandate of Arbitral Tribunal is extended by further period of one year i.e., from 10th August, 2026 up to 9th August, 2027. 05.
