7 13-07-2026 AKG Ct. 237 CPAN 570 of 2024 in WPA 7700 of 2023 Smt. Dali Das & Anr. Vs. Dr. Prabir Kumar Ghosh & Anr. Mr. Ambu Bindu Chakraborty …for the Applicant Mr. Shubradip Roy …for the Respondent Let the instruction filed on behalf of Visva-Bharati be kept on record. Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that the case of the petitioner was duly considered by the University for appointment on compassionate grounds. It is submitted that only 20 candidates from the panel prepared under the compassionate appointment category are to be offered appointment. The petitioner secured 29 marks in the selection process, which did not place her among the first 20 empanelled candidates. Accordingly, the petitioner is not entitled to appointment. In my view, although belatedly, the University has complied with the order dated April 18, 2023. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I am not inclined to proceed with the present application any further. 2 Needless to observe, the petitioner shall be at liberty to challenge the selection process, if so aggrieved, by taking appropriate steps in accordance with law. Accordingly, CPAN 570 of 2024 stands disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
