By the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent authorities to consider and decide his application for grant of compassionate appointment on account of the death of his father. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's father, who was working as a Cashier-cum-Clerk at Dondilohra Branch, Durg Rajnandgaon Gramin Bank, died in harness on 29.10.2003. Thereafter, upon attaining the age of majority, the petitioner submitted an application dated 11.09.2006 (Annexure P- 3) before respondent No.3/Bank seeking compassionate appointment. He further submits that despite the lapse of considerable time, the said application has neither been considered nor decided by the competent authority, and no order has been passed thereon till date. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the respondents/Bank, on instructions, submits that if the application submitted by the petitioner is still pending consideration, the same shall be considered and decided, after due verification, strictly in accordance with law as well as the applicable Rules/Policy, within the stipulated period. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents appended with the writ petition. 3 5. Considering the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and taking into account the submission made by learned counsel for the respondents/Bank, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned respondent authority/Bank to consider and decide the petitioner's pending application dated 11.09.2006 for compassionate appointment and pass an appropriate order, strictly in accordance with law and the applicable Rules/Policy, preferably within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.
