Affidavit of service filed on behalf of petitioners is taken on record. 2. Learned advocate representing petitioners submits that respondent no.5 is their daughter-in-law and taking note of the complaints and counter- complaints, previously criminal prosecutions were initiated. However, present writ petition is filed in connection with criminal prosecution, being Narendrapur Police Station Case No.759 of 2026 dated 10th June, 2026, which was initiated on the complaint lodged by petitioners against respondent no.5 and other persons. 3. It is also contended on behalf of petitioners that previous criminal prosecutions were culminated 2 into filing of charge sheets. However, petitioners pray for direction upon the concerned police authorities to take necessary steps in connection with investigation in Narendrapur Police Station Case No.759 of 2026 dated 10th June, 2026. Prayer is also made for deploying police personnel in order to extend protection to petitioners. 4. Mr. Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 10th July, 2026 of Inspector-in- Charge of Narendrapur Police Station and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 10th July, 2026 is made over to learned advocate representing petitioners. 5. It is disclosed in the said communication that in Narendrapur Police Station Case No.759 of 2026 dated 10th June, 2026, one of the accused persons, namely, Jaynarayan Giri @ Jay was arrested on 14th June, 2026 as he was not complying with notice under Section 35(3) of BNSS. Raids are also conducted to apprehend other accused persons. 6. However, it is submitted by learned advocate representing private respondents that other accused persons obtained pre-arrest bail from the Sessions Court on 9th July, 2026. 7. It is also disclosed in the said communication that after arresting said Jaynarayan 3 Giri @ Jay, his statement was recorded under Section 180 of BNSS. 8. Concerned police authorities are directed to take expeditious steps to take the criminal prosecutions to logical conclusion by filing a charge sheet before the jurisdictional Magistrate. 9. Writ petition stands disposed of. 10. However, police authorities are also directed to maintain peace and tranquility and to see no untoward incident takes place. 11.
