Mishra … for the respondents July 10, 2026 [AKB] Item No.10 This writ petition has been filed alleging inaction on the part of the respondent electricity authorities in granting electricity supply to the petitioner at the petitioner’s residential premises. It is the petitioner’s case that the application for grant of electricity supply made as far back as on April 01, 2025 still remains pending. Mr. Mishra, learned Advocate appearing for the respondent electricity authorities submits that electricity could not be supplied to the petitioner since upon inspection it has been found that the petitioner’s premises is still under construction. Be that as it may, since the petitioner has filed an application, the respondent electricity authorities will have to take a decision on such application. The petitioner’s application cannot be kept pending. The electricity authorities shall dispose of the petitioner’s application in accordance with law either by 2 granting electricity connection or by rejecting the same indicating reasons for such rejection so that the petitioner can take appropriate steps. The respondent electricity authorities shall dispose of the petitioner’s representation in accordance with law as aforesaid within a fortnight from date. With the aforesaid observations, WPA/352/2026 stands disposed of. No costs. (Om Narayan Rai, J.)
